Spiced Turmeric Porridge
The turmeric obsession continues! I have to admit that I have a steamy bowl of porridge every morning, because it’s such a great breakfast - it’s cheap, filling and you can change it a little everyday so you don’t get bored of it. Turmeric, aside form having incredible anti-inflammatory properties, is also very energising and gives me such a great kick to get my day going. Honestly if you love turmeric latte or turmeric smoothies you have got to try this! let me know what you think!
100gr plant-based milk (almond or coconut work best)
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 ginger powder (optional)
1 teaspoon natural sweetener like agave syrup/honey/maple syrup
top with: top with anything you like, I love using frozen berries because they completely melt into the prorogue giving it a delicious fruity touch
If you want to save up some expensive plant-based milk just 50/50 the amount with water, works just as well.
Heat up the liquid in a saucepan and mix in the oats. Cook on medium to low heat for a couple minutes before mixing in al the spices. The cook for another few minutes until you are left with a really creamy delicious texture. Top with toppings of choice and enjoy!
