New York is a big apple, that on the contrary to what it’s nickname suggests, did fall asleep. Apparently only to gather it’s energies and wake up to a great fashion week that will be in our minds for the next months. Outshining even London Fashion Week for it’s new ideas! Just as much as New York had fallen asleep so did DVF, the brand was just a snooze away from drifting into oblivion when Jonathan Saunders joined and shook the brand out of a coma, putting it on it’s feet and making it relevant and beautiful again. Elegant silk dresses, subtly mixed fabrics and overall incredibly beautifully flattering cuts. Tome was a serenade for the cool romantic, two opposites that attract each other and express their love through a beautiful collection of ruffles and gingham combos that stole our heart away. Also worth mentioning are the colour combinations, a mix of earthy tones with the occasional pastel and bright colour - LOVE. Or at least mine! I have to be honest and say that I wasn’t very familiar with this brand, but I have to say that I completely fell in love with it! Let’s see what comes next season… Joseph Font’s new collection at Del Pozo recalled the beautiful silhouettes of Cristobal Balenciaga, embracing structure in a way that is still wearable to us commoners. Can we talk about those cascade earrings? NEED. Altuzarra’s designer stated David Lynch’s movie Wild At Heart as main inspiration for the collection and although I do see the references, all I can think of is ‘who raided Carrie Bradshaw's closet?’ These two references also basically equal masterpiece, I mean Wild At Heart and Sex And The City? Mindblow. Which one was your favourite? Let me know x
