I love to have this juice first thing in the morning as it wakes your right up and I don't know if it's the colour but it just puts you in a great mood. Pineapple is loaded with vitamin C, fiber, vitamin B2, B6, manganese and potassium. Studies have shown that it's enzyme bromelain, can help treat and reduce inflammation, break up fat cells, and help your body build collagen which is great for your skin. Cucumbers keep you hydrated, contains an anti-inflammatory flavonol called fisetin that appears to play an important role in your brain health and are full of antioxidants. We all know and apple a day keeps the doctor away, and in this recipe also helps balance out flavour.
For 1 tall glass:
I sadly don't have a juicer in London, so when I went back home for a couple f weeks I juiced like there was no tomorrow, with my moms juicer. This was actually one of my favourite juices I made because I felt incredibly fresh and energetic afterwards. I was reading an article a few months ago on how some athletes regularly drink beet juice before workouts as this can improve their performance significantly! Bring on the beets!
Beetroot are a good source of betaine, which helps protect cells, proteins and enzymes from environmental stress. They also help purify your blood and liver, fight inflammation and boost your stamina. Lime boosts your immune system and helps fight infections, it stimulates the digestive system and it builds collagen so helps rejuvenate the skin. Apples are full of vitamin C and B - complex which are key in maintaining red blood cells and nervous system healthy - plus it adds some sweetness to the juice! Carrots are a high source in antioxidants (especially beta-carotene which is good for skin). Turmeric is a well known potent anti-inflammatory.
Ingredients (makes one)
If you liked my turmeric latte recipe you will be as obsessed with the smoothie version.
I actually just chose ingredients I had in my kitchen by colour and picked everything yellowish on a grey London day, threw it together and was totally blown away!
It has a lot of amazing health benefits; first and foremost as usual, turmeric’s anti-inflammatory powers. Mango, banana cashews and the almonds in the almond milk all have an incredible array of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants leaving you full of energy. The cashews make it deliciously creamy bringing it to the perfect consistency.
If you want the same health benefits and the same feeling of energy without drinking a hot drink I really suggest you try this amazing recipe!!
1 handful cashews
1/2 tablespoon turmeric
1 cup of almond milk
Blend all ingredients together and enjoy! Banana and mango can be frozen for extra freshness!
